About the Role

 

A Senior Consultant in Solution Engineering uses their knowledge, skills and passion for GIS to support sales of software and services to enable clients to achieve their business outcomes.

 

Sitting within the Sales organisation, the Solution Engineering team partners with the sales team to deliver technical expertise throughout the sales cycle.

Solution Engineers assist with qualifying and closing high-value strategic opportunities, whilst shaping the clients’ purchasing decisions across the full suite of our products and services.

 

As a Senior Solution Engineer, you will work with clients to understand and define their needs and envisage technical solutions using our products and services.

Working independently or with a small team, you will assist in preparing bids and proposals that demonstrate a compelling value proposition.

You will deliver presentations and demonstrations to clients, including at industry events, and be comfortable speaking to all levels of an organisation.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide solutions, ideas and advocacy that bridge the gap between spatial technology and business outcomes.
  • Understand a client’s needs and explore with them how they can benefit from the full potential of GIS in their organisation.
  • Prepare bids and proposals that demonstrate a compelling value proposition for the client.
  • Drive adoption of software use and new technologies by maintaining knowledge of Esri technology, key industry domains, and technical trends.
  • Undertake knowledge development and promote knowledge sharing with the team and company.
  • Represent Esri Australia solutions at Client and industry events through presenting and developing creative technical demonstrations which showcase our technology and services.
  • Contribute to the effective management of customer information and revenue reporting within Salesforce.

About You  

 

We are looking for an experienced Senior Consultant to provide technical expertise to enable and support technical sales whilst coaching team members to promote knowledge sharing and develop their capabilities.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in GIS or related discipline.
  • Five years of professional experience in GIS; ArcGIS experience an advantage.
  • Experience designing GIS solutions and/or delivering GIS products and services.
  • Solid experience working in a consulting environment and interacting at all levels of an organisation, both internally and with clients.
  • Advanced ability to diagnose a business problem and seek creative solutions in complex environments.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication abilities, with outstanding presentation skills, able to read and adapt to the audience.
  • Knowledge of sales methodologies and solution selling.
  • Substantial energy, commercial acumen, and a can-do mindset.
  • You must hold current permanent and full-time working rights in Australia.
