Senior GIS Consultant (Utilities) - Choose your location!

Due to continued growth, we are now looking for an additional passionate Senior GIS Consultant to provide technical and project consulting services to Esri Australia’s clients for the delivery of geospatial business solutions. 
The Senior GIS Consultant will be responsible for leading projects with our Utilities clients.  You will lead the technical planning, design, architecture, and implementation for large-scale utility projects, employing business and technical skills to influence and direct outcomes for clients that positively influence adoption of geospatial technology and services.
About the Role

  • You consult directly with clients at both a management and technical level, capturing customer requirements and presenting the relevant technical solution, building, and implementing Esri solutions.
  • Develop technical and project documentation such as project deliverables, technical design, whitepapers, architectural and solution alternatives, process documents, technical reviews, deployment plans and work instructions.
  • Provide technical input to the design of system environments (development, test, production, redundancy, etc).
  • Ensuring design, development, testing and deployment meets quality standards and is compliant with design specifications.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through the expansion of the Esri footprint or adoption and renewal of subscriptions.

About You

  • 5+ years’ experience working within the Utility sector.
  • Experience with the ArcGIS platform would be highly regarded.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in corporate/enterprise information systems with a high level of spatial integration.
  • Experience in Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) / REST and n-tier architectures.
  • Knowledge of network and security systems including, protocols, file systems, firewalls.
  • Business Continuity, High Availability, Disaster Recovery planning experience.
  • The ability to prioritise workload, manage time and schedule tasks whilst remaining resilient to changing priorities.
  • Be self-managed, escalating issues; accordingly, build rapport internally and externally with peers and customers to enable knowledge sharing, strong relationships, analysis of business requirements and successful project delivery for clients.
  • Working rights - You must hold current permanent and full-time working rights in Australia.
