About the Role

 

A Consultant in Solution Engineering uses their knowledge, skills and passion for GIS to create engaging geospatial demos, presentations and other content to support sales of software and services which enable clients to achieve their business outcomes.

 

Sitting within the Sales organisation, the Solution Engineering team partners with the sales team to deliver technical expertise throughout the sales cycle. Solution Engineers assist with qualifying and closing high-value strategic opportunities, whilst shaping the clients’ purchasing decisions across the full suite of our products and services.

 

As a Consultant Solution Engineer, you will specialise in developing solution demonstrations and interactive visual content and support the presentation of these to clients to showcase the potential of GIS solutions to enable their business outcomes. You will source, create, and maintain relevant datasets for use in sector- or capability-specific demos. You will work with clients to understand and define their needs and envisage technical solutions using our products and services. As part of a small team, you will also assist in preparing bids and proposals that demonstrate a compelling value proposition.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Use ArcGIS software to design and configure solutions which showcase the value of GIS technology for achieving business outcomes.
  • Provide solutions, ideas and advocacy that bridge the gap between spatial technology and business outcomes.
  • Drive adoption of software use and new technologies by maintaining knowledge of Esri technology, key industry domains, and technical trends.
  • Support sector-, account-, and opportunity-level sales and marketing activities.
  • Contribute to the effective management of customer information and revenue reporting within Salesforce.

About You  

 

We are looking for an experienced Consultant to provide technical expertise supporting technical sales and passionate about collaborating with clients to understand their needs, envision technical solutions using our products and services.

 

To be successful, you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in GIS or related discipline.
  • Good experience with a broad range of GIS products including configurable web applications; ArcGIS experience an advantage.
  • Thorough understanding of current capabilities and trends in GIS technology.
  • Experience working in a consulting environment and interacting with internal and external clients.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication abilities, with analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of sales methodologies and solution selling.
  • Substantial energy and a can-do mindset.
  • You must hold current permanent and full-time working rights in Australia.
  • Attitude and behaviour align with Esri Australia’s core values.
